I'm considering purchasing the pop top enclosure for my H240. Anyone know much headroom I will have standing in under it. I'm 5'10" and don't want to spend the money if I cant stand straight up. I dont have access to my boat right now to check what the height would be based on the slider being lifted in the upright position. Also if you have one what was involved in the installation. How long have you had it and is it holding up? Thanks Sean Coerse "Right Coerse" Norfolk Virginia

Short people

I bought the pop top two years ago and am very pleased with it. No leaks even in some heavy winds and down pours. I am however one of the vertically challanged people (5'6 1/2"), but I still think you will have plenty of room at 5'10". Go slow laying out the top before you start drilling the holes for the snaps. I wish I had been a little more deliberate as my top should be an inch or two aft from where it is now. Overall not that hard of job and it makes the boat a lot more liveable for the overnighters and weekends.

Thank

Thanks for the input. I think I'll be using some income tax money to make the purchase before the new sailing season..

Good News

We have enjoyed the Pop-Top on our H23.5, I'm 5'10" and there's headroom to spare. It certainly makes galley work a lot easier than standing on your knees. I made a screen to replace the companionway boards and added a vecro strip to the Pop-Top. The Bad News: Sometimes the zipper is sticky and stubborn, it's not completely waterproof in a driving rain, and it's very difficult to put curtains up there. You're sort of in a fishbowl using it dockside. It's still the best thing to fight claustrophobia! Ken S/V WouffHong
