Pop top support poles

Both of my aft pop top support poles have come loose. All four of the screws have snapped off at the heads --where the brackets connect to the pop top. Has anyone had any experience repairing this particular problem? I cannot remove the old screws.

How hard do you want to work at this?

One easy way to fix this would be to move the pop top back 1/8" and drill and install new screws just forward of the existing holes, like right next to the existing screws. The threads of the two screws will jamb right into each other. Option two, Chisel out the old screws and fill the holes with epoxy. Install new screws. I know it's a real heavy piece but if you can get it off the boat and flip it over, it'l be a whole lot easier. Good Luck, Dan
