Mike, you can make a replacement. I have one original and one home made. All you need is a bench vise to crush and bend the ends. Works just as well as the original. And yeah, they don't float well.

Then use a lanyard
I too have one factory and one homemade. I simply squished aluminum pipe flat and bent to the right angle. Then I tied a line around each of them and keep them attached to the boat.

Yes it sank immediately so will have my replacement tied on! Off to Home Depot/Lowes this evening to try and get some tubing... Mike
