Bought a Pop Top through the HOW chandlery and am preparing to install it. It doesn't mention it in the instructions, but I'm wondering if I should bed the deck snaps in sealer.Fair WindsJohnS/V Icymoon
first, jim seamons is a fruit cake like me and He is right..When you drill, use a smaller bit of course maybe two sizes down. On the top surface is gel coat. Make sure after drilling your pilot hole for the snap, I suggest putting on a large bit and put it in reverse to bevel the gel coat away from the glass. When you add the snap, the gel coat will not crack in all kinds of ways. USe 5200 liberally and do clean immediately with alcohon or acetone.Crazy dave condon
fro my Hunter 23.5. Let me know how easy (or difficult) it is to install and how you like it. Did you get screens and windows?A few years back (maybe 10) I spent 6 to 9 months in Fort Wayne and really liked it, especially the old fort. There was a 4 star resturant there .. Cafe Jonnell (or something like that) that had incredible food. Where do you sail and ewhat size boat do you have?Haydenhayden_jones@renolan.com
I sail my H26 on Lake Wawasee. Yes, you were correct, it is Cafe Jonnell, one of several very good resturants here.I don't foresee any difficulty in installing the poptop, merely a lenghty procedure with the number of snaps that must be attached. I got my with the screens, also.Fair WindsJohnS/V Icymoon
You might check into a cabin cover. Keeps rain from coming in through the slide tracks and protects the wood slats on the door. It can be made to use the same snaps affixed to your boat. Not that hard to make if you can get Sunbrella material and can sew a little. Cheap snap tool and snaps are available from Home Depot type of place.
