the backlighting on the display has deteriorated and now is not readable at night with Lamp 1,2, or 3 backlighting unit works fine and daytime display is good as new what can i do - thanks - russ
It sounds like the LCD has been damaged. The brighter light with the backlighting on is causing it to wash out. Raymarine does not make the ST50 instruments anymore, but the service center could service this one for you. See our website at www.raymarine.com for contact information and service details.
At least it could a few years ago. I had the ST50 Tridata and it developed the very same problem. Raytheon (then) replaced the LCD display free of charge even though the unit was out of warranty. I became a loyal fan and purchase ST60 when I got another boat. as Bill says, contact their service department. Good Luck
