trying ways to prevent the mooring lines from getting tangled. many at the marina have the floats which look like pool noodles. thought i could easily find online defender, WM etc but didn't see. maybe i should check pool toys??

Good idea but the cheapest pool noodles have zero strength, no resistance to sunlight and absorb water, they are only good for toys.

I have been using a set I got at Target for two years now. Cut the noodle in half, slit it lengthwise and put the pendant in there and used duct tape to tape over it. See the pic I use as my avatar and you can see them on the lines. Have a few other people that have them on their pendants at the marina as well. They are an inexpensive option for pendant floats.

Or your could sew, tie or whip both of your mooring pendants together every 3' or so. Leave the last 6' - 8' separate. They will never get tangled again.

Are there cheaper pool noodles than the ones I've been getting from Dollar Tree for a buck apiece? They're closed cell polyethylene, they don't absorb water, and I have some pieces that have been out in the sun for several years with no signs of degradation. As far as strength goes, well, yeah, they're noodles, so I generally avoid using them for structural applications.
