I'm a new owner of an '81 22. Does anyone know the correct way to secure the starboard side plywood inside the cabin (same plywood that a chainplate is fastened to at the top) to the hull ? There are four bolts on the bottom which go through the plywood then through what looks like a fiberglass rib but there are no washers or nuts or anything on the other side and or course it is loose. Does any one know what should be there ? Thanks in advance.

The do vibrate loose

Dennis: I'm more familar with the ones on the port side vibrating loose. Last sping mine were loose as they usually are every year. I put a little epoxy into the holes and I will have to see if that made a difference. Look at the ones on the other side of the boat, and take one of them to the store to get a few more that are the same size. They look like a flat head sheet metal screw, except the head is slightly rounded. There are also finishing washer used between the screws and the formica'ed plywood. Make sure you do use stainless steel screws. I think that both trailering the boat and having it sit in the water rigged, causes the screws to loosen. Aldo

Thank You Aldo for the info

I take it from your response that the formica'd plywood is screwed into the fiberglass and not bolted with a nut and washer on the glass side. I'll follow your advice about the epoxy. Thanks again.
