I have a 1987 Hunter 34'. I am having some leaking problems on some of the hose coupling and T-fittings. In addition, I can't seem to identify the size of the tubing. I have checked with RV supply stores and they can't seem to help me. If I could get the size of the tubing and a resource to purchase hose and fittings like couplings and T-fittings that would be great.

you state tubing..Is it hard tubing or flexible hose? If flexible hose with hose clamps, try tightening the clamps a bit. For hose size, take a t fitting and measure the outside diameter and that is your hose size..

There would be markings on the hose and the fittings.... some Hunter boats use 15mm some use 1/2", 3/8" or 5/8" ID , you'll need to identify what you have. Any marine store can order quick connects and hose.

The original fresh water piping was polybutylene tubing, 3/8" ID by 1/2" OD gray .. The tubing got a lot of bad press in the late 1990's because it was used in home attics for hot water .. it failed because of degradation from the heat.. It was used in a lot of boats built in the 80's because it was inexpensive and easy to work with. Many people replaced the poly with PEX so you'll have to figure what ya have .. if original polybutylene, fittings and tubing can still be found . My boat still has the original tubing and the only problem I've had is that the fittings occasionally have to be tightened as they will get lose from the pulsations from the water pump. Attached picture is of the water tank selector valve showing the polybutylene compression fittings. Amazon and ACE Hardware can help.. I have not found much at Home Depot or Lowes but your stores may be better..

Mine was the same as well and started to leak. In 2015, I replaced the entire fresh water tubing and upgraded to 15mm Pex. I used John Guest Quick connect, T’s, Elbows etc. At the time the best pricing and availability I got was from Fresh Water System Co. Try them they have the parts you would need.
Looking back at my log, it was about $150 in parts for my Hunter 340. And trouble free also.

I have a 2005 H36. The plumbing lines are 15MM PEX. Not compatible with 1/2 inch standard PEX you will find at hardware retailers. I did a project on my boat (
) and got my 15MM parts from Fresh Water Systems. Just need to check the part sizes carefully before ordering as they sell both sizes.

As on our boat, Zurn Quicktite was and is a good product. I found our leak and fixed it. Seemed silly to me to replace the whole system just because of a leak.
