Friends;My H22 has no covers over the two aft cockpit drains (anyone know where I may get them?); as a result, debris has choked them up. I spent a couple hours in the freezing rain today with an auger tring to unstuff then - no luck. Any recommendations on how to alleviate the blockage without hauling the boat? Cod liver oil?...Seth

I had the same problem

My cockpit drains didn't have a cover on them either. I found the covers at Boat US. I installed them (stainless steel). It made a huge difference. Be very careful when you are messing with the drains when there is ice in them! I think that I had a leake in my drains because of the ice that was in them this year. I think that I will just cover the cockpit next winter! Good Luck....Boat US should have what you are looking for.

Try removing the drain hoses.

Cockpit drains are generally crossed to the opposite side of the boat to avoid filling up the cockpit when the boat is on a tack. If you have access under the cockpit floor, just loosen the SS collars and remove the hoses, then take them out somewhere where you can unclog them easily. The drain itself is nothing more than a fiberglass tube about 4" long with the hoses slipped. Don't forget to re-install them crosswise. Good Luck
