Peggie, In continuing a discussion in the Cherubini forum, the vent on my Hunter 37C holding tank is plugged at the elbow on the tank where the vent hose connects. It is plugged with a white salty looking paste. It is difficult to clean all the way through the elbow. Is there a way to clean it chemically? Do you know basically what the paste is? Would appreciate any comments and/or advice.

Why not just replace the elbow fitting?

And while you're at it, replace the vent hose too..it prob'ly has as much junk in it as the fitting. Total cost: about $10. whatever your time is worth, you'd spend considerably more trying to salvage the existing fitting and hose.
