Went to the site and read. Wow. I'm not going to let that discourage me from the plan we too may only do a half loop. LOL But seriously would not want to see damage to the great lakes. I plan on seeing those beautiful bodys of water. Thanks Joy

You do realize that most of the trip you will be motoring, some with the mast up and a lot down? With a smallish diesel tank it must be in the plan.
Where would you depart from? To do the complete loop you could truck the boat a short distance when leaving Lake Michigan(assuming the locks are closed by then).
