Peter and the experienced others... I read about some of your findings in the archives regarding the placement of a puck sytle depth transducer on the H23. It was mentioned and I concur that the best place to install the transducer would be in the small compartment underneath the floor board adjacent to the porta john which positions it before the keel. I was curious if 1) you used this location, 2) if so which path (of least resistance) did you run the cable to the guage, and 3) if not than where? I'm building a dash board to mount the instrument guage, among some other newfound necessities, that slide into the companionway when the doors are removed...so the wiring to the electric panel is straight forward. thanks in advance. experienced others includes everyone...lol

still looking to see what others did when installing a shoot through hull transducer...in the h23 there is a compartment in the v berth that looks like an ideal spot, has anyone used this?

Hi Brian

I placed mine low down next to the bulkhead under the stbd setee in the main cabin, so it's actually just slighly ahead of and beside the keel. This locatio does come out of the water when heeled really hard on stbd tack (lee rail in the water) but I have a solid signal the rest of the time. I'm happy with it. Peter H23 "Raven"

i too am considering the v berth area

looks to me like that puts the puck on centerline and ahead of the keel. yeah or ney? i'll route the wires back to the indicator under the setees. power is nearby and indicator is next to the compass.
