Rick, I can certainly understand your desire to control stepping and unstepping of your mast. You may have to have one made for your mast and tabernacle . I would certainly call Rudy at D&R marine as a first start. I would also contact Rig-Rite,(www.rigrite.com) which handles replacement spars for the O'Days (quite likely a Kenyon mast), to see if they have something that can replace your current mast base. Failing all of that I do know that Bellpat Marine in New Jersey has made a pivoting base for many OD27 owners.If you go to this site http://members.aol.com/aguardino/ginpole/ you will find the link to them and observe the base in action. Actually, the base section that pivots on the O'Day masts is extraordinary simple, but I would imagine must be fitted properly. Good luck in your search and please report back how you made out. Don
