Our pitot, a plastic j shaped tube for measuring speed under sail by simply dipping it in the water over the side, finally bit the dust. Or hit the waves, as the case may be. Any ideas where I might find a new one?

You know? I've had one of those on my boat for years, and I hardly ever use it, but if you think about it, it's readings are just as accurate as the meters that require a special propeller type transducer that you attach to the hull of your boat, which always require cleaning due to marine growth. My friend installed a track and a car on his rudder that allows him to raise the transducer out of the water when the boat is sitting on the mooring, but guess what? He still needs to scrape the growth off the track occasionally in order to lower the transducer. Perhaps I'll start using mine again.
