I am going to fine tune (adjust) the pitch on my Kiwi prior to launch this spring. I currently can attain 2900 rpm and I should be getting 3000. I also travel at 2 knots or faster in calm water while at idle which seems a little to swift. Instructions seem pretty straight forward; back the screw out and put some Loctite around the head of the screw when complete. A half turn changes rpm by 300 to 400 rpm so I figured I would try one quarter turn.

Any words of wisdom from any Kiwi owners out there? Anything I should be concernd about? Thanks.

Pat:

Contact the rep. They have more experience than all of the sailors on this site. Those guys have good support and really know those props.

Hi Pat T

Just starting the second season with the Kiwi. While at the Annapolis show last October, I spoke to the Kiwi reps with the same problem you are having. I was unable to obtain my max rpm. They told me that backing off the screw by 1/4 turn should increase my rpm by 300-400 rpm. Before I went back into the water I did this and it worked. I can now reach 3600 which is max for the 3GM30.

Still enjoying the prop. works great..

Jim, just to confirm, you mean to flatten the pitch slightly, right? I've had the same issue on my 356 w/Kiwi, think I'll try this. Otherwise, I like the prop.
