Looks like you're doing a first rate job. Had the previous owner removed the diesel and you put in a new one? Just curious is all.Looking good! I hope that you get it finished in time to sail this summer.Bill McCourtReston, VA

Good morning Bill,Well there was no engine in the boat when I brought her home. I got a new Beta for power. Well I got my boat home I stripped her down to the bare hull. Everything else was old, warn out or missing...lol. I have a brand new boat now, a 1976 new Albin Vega...I must be crazy. With buying the boat, building a trailer and a complete retro fit upgrade I will have $30,000.00 total in this boat. I see them selling for $6,000- $16,000, not sure yet if I made a mistake in going all out in this project...lol. Larry Wills SV2761Lilly Too

Larry,I'm in the $50k range, so I guess I'm crazier than you. However, you can't buy a new boat for anywhere near this amount and then they wouldn't have the pedigree of a Vega. I've got all of my electronics installed and once I get the hull painted, she'll be just about ready to go back in the water.Rics/v Blue Max#2692www.ric-maxfield.net

It's people like you two that keep the Vega and the
art of restoration alive... Well done both of you. Just wish one or the other
lived in the UK close to Malvern!
