Ok these are just straight up photos of my boat. Nothing more than photos I had to submit to get my boat insurance a month ago.

No scenery no sailing :) Just the boat inside and out. They are fairly high resolution so you should be able to zoom in on about anything that's in the photos to see more detail. Mast is down and tied up ready for transport. This was just before I moved me and the boat to florida all snuggled in it's barn.

Anyway been lots of posts about this and that modifications and thought I'd just post a photo.

Looks better all put together but ur all catalina 22 guys and pretty sure you seen one all put together.

Any way if this this works here goes it they are stored on my skydrive.

Nice photos

Been around trailer sailboats for over 20 years and during that time have help launch and recover all of the popular mfg’s boats, in you photos I see two potential trailer to hull problems;

First is the trailer winch, pulling down on the hull. If you find that the hull pulls away from the trailer bow chock after you pull everything out of the water, then raise the trailer winch till it’s at least level with the bow eye of the boat. Slightly higher would be better. You have room to slide the winch up on the trailer post and you can put some blocking under the winch if you run out of room.

Second is the trailer bow roller, do not use it as a support for the bow, the bunks will carry all of the weight of the hull. The trailer will flex over uneven pavement and this roller will push up at that little point right below where the hull is being pulled down by the winch. A bow roller helps lift the weight of the hull up off the front edge of the bunks when loading, this needs to happen when the bow is 3 or 4 feet from the bow chock so, it should be set back another 18 to 24 inches. After the stern sits down on the backend of the bunks when you pull it out of the water this roller should be 1/2 to 3/4 inches below the hull.

Dido on the nice barn! Nice boat also. Now I gotta see some photos of the Chris-Craft! My Grandparents lived on the river just down stream from Algonac Michigan, original home of Chris-Craft, so I've always had a soft spot for them.

Your dad is a stone cold pimp, man. I wouldn't have the nerve to even LAUNCH that boat, let alone actually USE it. Three of them in existence?? I've seen a few of the wood ones, but I've never even seen a pic of one like that. Didn't know they existed!

yah there is a model that is close to it they make the year before. Then they had some left over molds I guess so they modified it put that radar arch or whatever you call it and stretched it a little and stuck a corvette engine in it.

Yah we used to restore antique cars, race stock cars, race moto cross, drag race, pretty much if it's got wheels we've raced it, restored it, modified it. But things are made for using not lookin at.

Have been running and restoring boats all along as well couple chris crafts ect, Then I got into slow mo sailboats. hehe Guess that's the reason I have no desire to race the sailboat just enjoy floating around sailing with my fav drink, dog on the bow, and no worries about when I'm gonna get to where I'm goin.

Anyway thanks for the compliments.

getting back to the pictures - very nice all around, including the Chris Craft! I have some questions regarding the mast raising post:
1. Looking at this system on CD, I assumed that the outside section was the one that raises, just grab onto it and lift, I see in the photo that the inside section raises - how do you push the mast up?
2. I have read to raise the mast to 9 1/2ft, what is that measured from and to?
3. I see in your photo that one of the "ears" at each side on the mast (and holding the roller) appears to be bent, is this by design or by accident?

Thanks,
Jim, btw, our Catalina 22 Number is 14609

I "think" I know what your asking but not positive so if I don't answer your question let me know.

sliding the pole up in the back I do with the mast in the crutch. It extends to double the length of the pole. That exact distance I'm not positive, but it raises the mast to I'd say about a 30 deg or a little more of an angle. Maybe as much as 40.

You raise that before you slide the mast back to the deck connection so the weight there really isn't that much.

You don't slide the mast back and then connect it or at least I don't the weight is to much for me doing it that way.

The bent ears if your looking at the mast crutch "I'm assuming you are" is by design just lets the mast sit in the crutch easier and when lowering gives a bigger slot to put it in.

Most people then just raise the mast by hand standing on the deck. Personally Ive made a mast raising system using a remote control electric winch that is attached to the rese hitch of my truck then running up to another pole that is attached to the trailer then to the mast. Allows me to single hand the mast and holds it in place while I attach everything. Again that's my system I've had 7 back surgeries and don't get around all that well anymore so anything that helps make things easier I'm always looking for.

And I might have just answered a bunch of questions you didn't ask hehe so if that didn't answer any of it let me know.
