Here are some PERF Ratings for O'Day's

Sandy interesting question ... Since I did not know the numbers for my boat (even though I do not race) I thought it would be interesting to find the answer. So here are the PHRF numbers for the O'Day models. The rating for the 322 is 168. Anyone interested in discussing their racing experience? Sure, I'll discuss

James- Since we live miles apart (literally), perhaps I can pursuade you to race your boat. Where do you keep it? I moor my Mariner off Angelica Point and race every Wednesday at the MYC. If you are interested in racing your boat, this is a great YC to start at. Between racing on larger boats in Newport and getting married, I missed a lot of races in mattapoisett last year. But the ones that I entered, I was quite happy with my progress. Good Luck, Craig

Not quite ready to race yet

Hi Craig ..... I'm not quite ready to race the 23 yet. Two reasons 1) The boat is in great condition but the sails are old and .... if I race I know I will want to be competitive and with two boys in college ... new sails etc etc are at the bottom of the list! 2) I crew on Tuesdays and Wednesdays on Narranganset bay - a J37 and a Pearson 26 so ... my boat is for cruising and learning how to be the captain/drive the boat and all the other things rather than just tend to the jib/be a grinder! Thanks for the suggestion of MYC - Cheers James
