PHRF rating for Capri 22 tall rig fin keel

Hi,
I just bought a Capri 22 with brand new class genoa and main from North Sails. The genoa is a 155% so our PHRF fleet captain is giving us a -3 off the base rating. My question is, What size jib or genoa is the base rating based off of?

155 is the "cutoff" for YRALIS PHRF.

According to YRALIS > 155 is -3 GREATER THEN 155 will get you -3
So -- for YRALIS A 155 would NOT get you a -3 .

But each region has their own rules .... I think.

How much of an adjustment / penalty was tacked on for the tall rig?

Well, since we started here --- ..

anyway. Each PHRF region does their own "thing", but normally they are close

YRALIS has the wing keels at 213 for standard rig and the tall rig 207

PHRF New England uses the following:

BASE HANDICAP
CAPRI 22 FK 201
CAPRI 22 TM 195
CAPRI 22 WK 213



For my SRWK:
racing PHRF = 219 = 213 (base) plus +3 (headsail ≤ 135%) plus +6 (recreational)
cruising PHRF = 228 = 213 (base) plus +3 (headsail ≤ 135%) plus +6 (recreational) plus +6 (cruising - no spinnaker, etc.)

For the past years I have raced under the cruising PHRF.
This year I will use an asymmetric spinnaker. Depending on the bow sprint, my racing PHRF will be changing.

Since I use the PHRF racing as practice sailing to improve my skills, I am less concerned whether the ratings are "perfect".
If I was that finicky, I would race One Design.

For 2016 I expect my PHRF to be 216

213 Base and + 3 for less then 720 lbs. crew weight.

Same for when I sail non-spinnaker. I have a 12 ft. whisker pole. and a 150 hank on genoa.

For non-spinnaker, had I limited my whisker pole to the length of a J then I would have received an additional + 6.
