....last weekend, we got our butts kicked by a Wyliecat 30. I sailed on a Pearson Flyer with a rating 144, and the Wyliecat rated 147. The Wyliecat was faster and pointed higher upwind and stayed about even downwind (without a chute). I was 'blown away' by the speed and pointing of this cat rigged single sail boat with a 2 man crew. Finished the series with (3) 2nd and (1) 1st while the Wylie took (3) 1st and a 2nd. Tried to iniciate a tacking duel once we pulled ahead of her in the final race, but she had the advantage of faster tacks and better acceleration. So we broke it off and used a loose cover to finish ahead of her. Fair warning....if you're going to race against a Wyliecat, be prepared for a serious fight!
