If you recently received a message from me with the subject line reading : Re: Look what I found here, I did NOT send it. Sorry, I don't know how they do it, they have obviously gained access to my address book. I wouldn't have known it, except that one or two were "undeliverable"

There have been a few recently that I've moderated out which is why
they haven't appeared in the group.
They don't need to be very clever .. you've just posted your entire
address book to the world. I suggest you use BCC in future.

Hi Frank,

If you are using a mail program on your computer, like Mac Mail or Outlook (or another), you likely have a virus on your computer. The virus might only be sending the spam emails. However, there is some pretty insidious malware (like the Kol bot) out there right now that delivers multiple payloads, including spam senders, key loggers, bank login credential stealers, SNS and others. You should make sure your computer is checked out and the malware removed. I would recommend re-imaging the hard drive; however, you might lose some data. If you do that, definitely consider going back to an image date prior to the date you noticed the spam.

Hope that helps.
