I own a Hunter 27 1976, I sail north of phila. pa on the delaware river. I was interested in how many OLDER Hunter sailboats there are in this area. A club of some sort I would like to start to help share local knowledge and events. Anyone in this area? Drop a note, I'll be starting the register, sign up!!

John, we started the Outer Banks of North Carolina Hunter sailing Association last fall. It has grown to 33 boats. This week we are holding what we have dubbed the Spring Cruise. The first piece of advice I would offer is simple. Forget the formalities and avoid mentioning dues until it becomes and absolute necessity. Most of all, don't become discouraged. I like to remember this adage: Quitters never win and winners never quit. It will be a lot of hard work to start, but the divdends will double and triple in returns. The people you meet and the friends you make will be the best people you have ever met. It won't matter whether they sail a H11, or and H54. They are all sailors and this alone levels the field. Maine Hunter Sailng Association
John. I am an officer (Secretary) in the Maine Hunter Sailing Association. We incorporated in 2002 as a LLC. Through the guidance of our Commodore, we have brought out membership up to about 35 boats. We have had three annual cruises and the fourth is planned for July 2005. Our aggregate membership experience has helped mold the type of cruising we do. We have Bylaws, have produced a web site, annual brochure, Calendar of Events, Rendezvous and Flotilla, Newsletter, annual seminars and an Annual Meeting.
