Phil: I was in your neighborhood last weekend

Phil - I just noticed where you were from. I wish I had been more observant in the past as I would have tried to at least stop in to the store. Spent four days up in Pt Townsend and had to come through Bainbridge to get there.

Nice area, but too cold for me - I know that sounds strange from NY state, but only in winter do you beat us out here. We are already, at this time of year, warmer than you are on most days. I have a sister out there that wants me to move so I have monitored your weather for a while.

I got to meet Brion Toss which is like meeting Brett Farve as far as I'm concerned. Good guy. Also got a short tour of Cape George Yachts and spent an entire afternoon walking the docks in PT T admiring the wooden boats.

Shoot, I wish I'd know that!

We don't have a store but our office is at the northwest end of downtown Seattle. But if you took 305 through BI from PT, back toward the airport you would have passed within a couple miles of my house.

PT is a great place to walk the docks. Lots of great boats there and a wonderful wooden boat community. Brion is a super nice guy.

Yeah, the weather here is not for everyone. Most years it's not this cold but that low overcast hangs around for months. Basically, November - May and June always sucks. If we get a summer it's July 5 through early October. If you can handle that it's a great place to live.

Decent sailing but fantastic cruising!

Does the Sound get warm enough to swim in?

Not by choice. I think the water temps peak in the 50's, if I recall. In Desolation Sound, about 100 miles or so north, there are a couple bays considered swimable. Having tried 'em, I think not.

You say you are in Seattle, yet you list your area as Bainbridge. Is that where your boat is?

I live on Bainbridge, SBO is in Seattle.

So do you take the ferry every day into Seattle?
