I am going to like this new format, however there is one thing I would like to see changed. Could you change the posts up, so that we see the origional post, before the responses, instead of the origional post at the bottom, and have all the responses in the order they are posted. As it is, you sometimes can't even tell what the origional post was, as the thread will get so far out off the origional, that you don't know what you are reading about. Of course I would never hi jack a thread, nor would I ever make a reply that doesn't pertain exactly to the origional post. I also have some bridges for sale.

Easy..

N&E,

It's easy to change and with this format you can even do it yourself.

Go into your profile. Edit Your Profile
Select Edit Forum Prefs
Scroll down and find Thread Display Mode
There you can change the order of the post. Mine says "Linear - oldest first".

Thanks to Brian D. for those instructions..!

Thanks Maine

Thank you for the info/advice. Easy enough to change when someone tells you how to do it. Like to see the origional post first, much easier to follow the thread that way.

Re: Thanks Maine

Much easier, it's the first thing I looked for when I got on this morning and saw how it was laid out.
I quit using a couple of my email addresses because they changed format, and it was impossible to change it to a normal oldest first layout. It just doesn't make sense to read backwards.

Sometimes it does ease it reading backwards so the newest is always at the top, but along with the original post being at the top, too. In the old system, if you set up preferences "backwards" the orig post would always be at the top, so you'd scroll down and just see the newest below it. I've gone back to the "normal" and have to scroll because I agree it's good to see the orig question at the top.

This is fun!:)

Did you guys notice....

....the button at the top of the threads? It says "View First Unread" and is above and to the left of the original post. You can click it and go directly to any new replies that have come in since you visited the thread last. It takes you right to the next reply, no wasted time rereading posts to find the first fresh one.

I love it!

Since the upgrade, I've noticed it takes a painfully long time to load (when signing on or simply reading a post )even on my new laptop. Any suggestions other than to have more patience?

It's pretty fast from here, at last it is once you get some of the content in your cache.

Try browsing around in the classifieds. If it's much faster that would indicate the site is bloated and slow to load. If it's only slightly faster there may be a routing issue between you and us.
