Peggy,

I purchased the PHC LBA from this site and installed it several weeks ago. My wife has complained of difficulty turning the switch from flush to dry as it is harder to move than the lever on the original jabsco. Is there any way to remedy this? Secondly the pump handle which came with the unit is very short-is there a longer one available?

thanks

Don't know about the pump, but take your handle off, measure the length you need and take it with you and go to a good hardware store. You'll have to drill a hole, but it'll be less, most likely, than getting a longer one from Raritan, although that's your other option.

The handle is 7/8" O.D. aluminum tubing. On the PHC, it is cut 6 3/4" long; on the PHII head, it is 11" long. Then a bicycle handlebar grip is added onto it. You can make up one yourself as was mentioned earlier (also, an old wooden broom handle will also work - it can be cut to whatever length necessary), or you can order a longer handle from Raritan. The longer handle used on the PHII is part #1206W, $15.00, plus shipping.

As far as the selector knob being hard to turn, the knob can be removed and the large round nut beneath it removed by unscrewing (channel-lock pliers work well to remove it) the nut. Then the inlet valve assembly can be pulled out, cleaned and the (3) "O" rings lubricated with a Teflon base marine grease. The reassemble the whole works again.
