If the following looks familiar; I posted it on the wrong forum before I found this one: Salvaged a PHII head from a 1964 Trojan; promptly dropped same. Broke the pump housing. Then found a box in the chandelry of new parts which included all major plastic. Wow! now I have enough to put it all together. Thanks to Peggie Hall's book "Get Rid of Boat Odors" I was able to order the remaining springs and a kit w/ joker valve etc. also bought Raritan PN1214W shaft seal cartridge assy. Here comes the problem: There are no threads in the top of the housing. My first instinct was that someone had broken off a seal assy just above the threads. If that is the case; the break was very clean. Is this made that way? Is there another type of cover? Now I have the cup washer seated in the hole. The pump works fine on the bench. Will it work over time? ]See attached picture. I have some sweet looking bronze parts on a new pump. Anyone have a number at Raritan for the "historian"?

You may be trying to combine 3 versions

The PH was the original...the PH II replaced it 1981. It was modified in 1992. While some of the parts are interchangeable among all 3 versions, a good many of 'em aren't. Your photo is definitely a of a PH II ...what's up for grabs is whether it's the pre-6/92 version or the post-6/92 version. If it's post-6/92, there should be threads on the inside of the top of the pump, to mate with a male threaded cap. It also looks like you may be missing a few other parts too. It will not continue to work reliably without all the parts. I can't sort what you need from here...you need to talk with Vic Willman at Raritan. 800-352-5630 x 6. However, I think he's on vacation this week.

THANK YOU PEGGIE!

It's right there on page 67. The parts for the pre 92 version are in the kit I have. The "cup" side faces down; right? I am turning a new ash handle now. This thing is so pretty it should go in the salon! I'll just have to settle for good lighting. Thanks again, Paul
