The Petrel has a bit of a history. There were 2 designs built.
One by Pearson

Trying to adddress your query one would need to understand which one you have.

We are talking about a boat designed/built in the 60's.
You may get some help from Dwyer Spars. Dwyer Aluminum Mast Company- Manufacturers of Quality Sailboat Masts ...
They have built a lot of masts for small boats. They may have a listing for your boat.

He is talking the Alcoa Petrel they are a small aluminum sailing dinghy I haven't seen one for half a century or so, but as I recall picture 2 is nearer the mark. It is a sloop not a catboat
