Perkins 4.154 dipstick

Help! The last 2" of my oil dipstick broke off in the tube.

I don't think the broken part can get into the pan, the tube makes a hard 90 degree turn at the bottom and the piece is too long to make that turn. I will be looking for a 1/4" magnet to fish in there to try to retrieve the piece anyway.

My real problem is finding a new dipstick. TAD is my best source for parts and they don't have one. They have a 24" that they tell me cannot be cut down to work. Mine is about 17".

try a kabota tractor dealer and see if they have anything that will work

I have found a "universal" dipstick at Pep Boys and Autozone. Have not looked at them in person yet to check size.
Any issues with using one of these if they fit the tube?

as long as it is gaged to the proper oil depth i would not think there would be a problem.....
