greetings, one of the forward engine mounts on the perkins 4-108 in my SM 39 needs to be replaced. it appears that the mount itself is mounted on an aluminum block, which in turn is mounted on the stringers that comprise the fiberglass pan that catches oil drips. is it possible that this block meerly sits on the stringer, and the ss lag screw that goes thru the mount and aluminum block, keeps it all in place. this would mean,,,in theory,,,that removing the lag screws,,(yeah, right, like the ss lag is not terminally fused into the aluminum block), will allow for the block to slide out, and replace the old mount. anyone have any experience with this?? ps: is there another gulfstar forum other than this?? many moons ago, you folks were an active bunch. thanks, rick MERLIN SM 39 hull #60
