Are you having difficulty motoring at hull speed? When I had my 1986 h28.5 with the standard 2-blade fixed prop and 2GM20 I could consistantly motor at hull speed. This engine is more than adequate for this boat. Is your hull and prop clean? What is the size and pitch of the prop you have? What RPM are you motoring at?
