Perfect sailing on Lake Minnetonka

I had a user conference to attend in Minneapolis, so I reached out to Clay Babcock (Jackdaw) to see if he would be around. He graciously invited me out for a perfect Fall sail on Blue J. I skipped the final session of the conference (I'll watch it after they post on the website, natch) and headed out with Clay. Really couldn't ask for a better Fall afternoon, with good wind, bright sunshine, and not too chilly, and burgers afterwards. Thanks so much, Clay!

That was a great sail. Fall sailing in Minnesota is so perfect, the breeze, the colors, etc. On top of that, its so fun meeting sailors you meet on-line; I've met sailors all over the world and every has been great. Jodi came to meet us ater the sail; she thought it was so cool that we have these great relationships on line and them meet and sail in person after all these years. She thought Brian was cool as well!

Glad to see you guys still sailing up there! Perseverance! Fall sailing on the Chesapeake is the best sailing of the year - cool air, strong breezes, warm water all add up to perfect sailing conditions. We'll be rocking on the hook like babies in a crib this weekend. Oysters are back on the menu, and crabs are still available! The Osprey have abandoned their nests and migrated south and we're wishing we could join them as winter closes in.

Minnesota has a lot to offer! Lake Superior about 10 days ago ...
About the prettiest resort we've ever been to.

Snooze you loose! Worked out perfectly here.. Brian and I sailed while Jo went out with a friend shopping for dresses for the Club Awards Banquet. Then we met up after at the Muni for burgers and a beer.

@Gunni with any luck we should be good for another month.

The fall colors are full-on, the powerboat crazies are mostly gone, and we have the wind and the water to ourselves.

Speaking of Purple Rain, if you haven't yet, check out the bluegrass version from Dwight Yoakam. It's really good, I think.
