Pending purchase of 1974 Cat22

I am considering purchasing 1974 Catalina 22. It has been moored in water for ten months and has 1 inch +, barnicle buildup. We would need to sail it about 30 (?) miles from Rockport, Tx to Corpus Christi, Tx.. Any peculiarities with this model?I've been told that a quick bottom cleaning would be required.Thank You,Richard Olsenmvolsen@juno.com

C-22 in TX

Rich; I'd clean the bottom, make sure the keel, if it's a swinging model, is in good shape, the cable and pins OK and the engine is bulletproof. Take plenty of gas. An autopilot would make the trip much more pleasant, too. Check the rig, too.
