But Little Rock!? Life is strange. Hope all went well. Acutally, though, I have a question. The small, ribbed, and hard hose running from the shower to the sump and from the sump pump overboard is a disaster. It can't be kept clean, it cracks, and it must be inefficient. It looks to be 1/2" ID. What do you recommend for replacement?

Replace it with smooth-walled sanitation hose.
White or black rubber. I'm back in Atlanta for about 3 weeks till the movers come to take me away for good. As for why Little Rock.... My dad's 86, alone since my mom died 3 years ago...I'd already decided to sell this big house and scale down...so what the heck--if everything has to go onto a truck, it doesn't matter whether the truck moves it 5 miles or 500--I still have to pack it all up and unpack it. So...I'm going home.
