I would like to pursue the topic of "clearing the waste lines". The idea that with a PH-II you can clear six foot of 1.5 inch hose with 18 pump strokes. Does this mean that just a few cups of water to clear the bowl and then 18 "dry" strokes and the hose is empty? My new Cricket is working really well. There is 18" of hose to the vented-loop and then 6' to the tank. Are we saying that "dry pumping" will clear that hose? Any idea how many strokes with a Cricket?

If the water in the hose is clean fresh water,

Why go through all it takes to make sure it's empty? Besides, you want to leave white vinegar in the hose while you're away from the boat. As long as you just clear the waste out before it can stand and stagnate, you'll prolong the time it takes hose to permeate considerably.
