When winterizing the plumbing system, the previous owner used to blow the lines clear of water. I have always run pink antifreeze through the system, after the water was out. Is there an advantage to one method over the other.

Either way is fine

It's not freezing temps that cause freeze damage, it's water that freezes. Ice occupies 10% more volume than the same quanitity of water. So you only need antifreeze to prevent any water left in the plumbing from freezing. If there's no water left in the system to freeze, you don't need antifreeze.
