Hi Peggie - Darcy and I are redoing the waste holding system on our C25. Head itself was rebuilt last summer. The tank has three 1.5 inch fittings, one high for the line from the head, two low for outlets, plus the vent line. The way the boat was plumbed made no sense, so I'd like to simplfy it. Is there any reason I can't just pump from the head into the tank, without a Y-valve, then hook the overboard discharge pump to one outlet and connect it to the through-hull, and the deck fitting to the other outlet? It seems to me that if I lock the through-hull I ought to be legal. Hope your enjoying your weekend. Justin - O'day Onwers' Web

Should work just fine, Justin.

In fact, I love the idea that you have two discharge ports in the tank...eliminates the need for ANY y-valves. As long as you're replumbing it, why not put a larger diameter vent line in the tank? Can't hurt...might help. The only expense would be the new tank fitting and new larger thru-hull.

Thanks Peggie

I think I will increase the vent line, and I'll let you know how the aquarium additives project goes. Justin
