I have a recently purchased a 1982 H30 with the Yacht Specialties pedestal. I understand they went out of business. I need a brake and would also like to install a pedestal guard. Does anyone have any suggestions? Will the Edison Pedestal guard work? If you have any experience please let me know. Thanks.

PEDESTAL YOKE

Yes the Edison cast aluminium guard yoke painted white will work, it's not a perfect fit on the O.D. and You do have to drill 4 hholes on the inside surface to mount , I have installed a Edison brake but had to do some modifications and it does not use the Yacht specialities original hole.

A wheel brake is available here through the Emporium. The pedestal guard on my Y S is 12" wide while the Edsons I've seen are 9".
