Can anyone help with a friend who is trying to replace the wire to rope line
for his center board on a 33' Pearson
He is trying to replace a line for the centerboard on a 25 some thing old boat and can't seem to find any info how to go about it the best way without losing
the line as it is swaged at the center board end and wire to rope down the mast into the cabin in and out of a few sheaves and any helpful info much needed.

would be best if he is on the hard ....havent done this but i would suspect that there is a pin through the sweged eye that has to be removed...it may require some glass work in replaceing it and may need a new pin as well.....maybe Maine Sail will way in on this....good luck...

On the Hard

Yes the boat is on the hard and doing new bottom and mast is off replacing many other electronics after lightening strike.
The problem is the wire to rope from the centerboard which makes many turns
up into the top of deck where the mast is and than back down into cabin.
The rope is too big to pull down and replace the whole thing and need to cut
where the wire and rope connect,want to try tie a line up top and pull the old out and than pull all new wire with some kind of messinger line but that is where
he is worried with some how pulling it out without it coming apart with many turns.
Going to yard right now to look see.
