pearson p26 - brainstorming how to route halyards to cockpit

hey all. I'm looking at the idea of routing my lines back to the cockpit and doing a single winch on the cabin top and have a photo here that shows my first concern. My mast step is lower than the cabin top where the winch would mount. Logically i'd block at the mast higher but then that would interfere with the vang, unless i use leads to bring the lines out away from that, but then i'm increasing the 'trip hazard' area. i'd love ideas and photos of other things that might be relevant to how best to build this for both function, form, and safety.

please dont hate me for how the lines are laying about... i hadn't neatened up when i snapped this photo.

the cabin door is not on the center line of the boat. so the winch wants to be on this port side. it gives me room for leads, cleats, and winch, and the bulkhead wall a place to wrangle line excess. The winch handle pocket would be removed open space to install the blocks to lead the lines down then away from the mast to the cockpit.

i would glass in flat surfaces for the winch, cleats, and leads, i think.

Thoughts?

I think you are on the right track, however a block attached to the mast is going to be at a bad angle. A swivel block on a pad at the mast base may work. Lead the halyard from there through a deck organizer set at an angle then to the winch. While you are thinking about it, consider leading the reef lines back to the cockpit. Don’t forget about a method to cleat the lines.

The whole layout on your boat is going to be tricky simply because of the curved cabin top.
Look at other boats in your marina to get some ideas as to how to come to a solution, without throwing a lot of money at it.

Just my 2 cents...
