Pearson 26 Mast part

Hi all, I was gifted a Pearson 26 and am in the process of revitalizing it and learning how to sail. I went to put up the main sail the other day and I noticed all the slides had come out of the track. At the base of the mast there is a slot which looks like it is missing a cover. It is possible to remove the entire boom via this slot. I posted pictures so you can get a visual. I’m trying to find the part which will prevent the slides from coming out when the main sail is down. It looks to me that some type of cover screws in. Does anyone know what the part is called? Thanks

Instead of installing a mast gate you can also buy a $12 part called a sail track stop.

Some swing over a track. Others are a pin design. Yours looks like it could be a pin type.
