Well its done. What a blast! There were 5 boats total. Winds around 25 knots gusting 30. We had to save one PD Racer that got blown over and turtled.
There were only 3 races then it was called because of high waves. (1.5- 2'). I guess they won't tack when a wave hits them.... We had the course set so they were on a beam reach all the time too.
Next year there are at least 2 in the plans for our club. Here are some pictures.
I am going to make one over the winter for myself. It looks like so much fun!

He didn't race. He ran the regatta and was the official. His wife Natalie made a lovely lunch for everyone. His daughter came 4th. (In Booger) She is the one we rescued. (not enough ballast)
He generously gave one of his two boats to a member that was without a boat. He (Chris) came 2nd! He crews with me on Wednesday races.
Mike M. won the biggest duck trophy for winning the regatta and all 3 races. (That's him with the red and white hull, white sail.)(He won last year too, but under an aillous name.)
I bumped into Brian today at the club. He was preparing his keel boat for next weekends Pumpkin regatta by cleaning the growth off. (I'm going to do that Thursday myself.) I'm kind of curious what if any is on mine. I painted it just before launch on mothers day, pulled it once in late June and found nothing...
I do get out on it at least 3 days a week.
