Does anyone who has replaced the waste hoses from the heads to the holding tank have any "words of wisdom" for me before I start that unenviable project? I usually learn what I should have done differently and was hoping that someone has already done some of that!

Read the article "Replacing Hoses"

in the Head Mistress forum reference library. You may also find some useful info in the article "Installing a Head and Holding Tank." Before taking anything apart, wash out the system thoroughly with detergent and water--no bleach, it won't do any good. Follow that with a couple of gallons of undiluted white vinegar and wait an hour or two. It may not get rid of all the odor, but it'll knock it down enough to make the job a lot less unpleasant. If you don't ever want to do this again, your replacement 1.5" hose should be SeaLand "OdorSafe" brand...the only one that's proven to be just about bullet-proof when it comes to odor permeation.

Lots of fun

I have done this a couple times for the aft head. You need about 15' of hose. I always connect the new hose to the old hose and pull it thru. The last time the hose came loose in the engine compartment. Getting the hose from the engine compartment to the main cabin was alot of fun.
