have just purchased a 1991 42 and am looking forward to some real relaxation! During the trials the previous owner warned of the immediate pull to the left when reversing. My boat has a 2 blade fixed prop ( dont know the specs) and I was wondering if anyone has experimented with different propellers and has any advice please? I am particularly interested to know what , if any real difference, a 3 blade fixed or a folding or feathering prop would bring?

eianm, a fixed 3blade will be smoother than fixed 2blade. if you use a 3blade Campbell Sailor Prop, the prop kick will be lesser (sometime you want to have more prop kick, butthat's another story). Comparing 2blade CSP to other 3blade fixed, CSP has less drag. Compare it to Folders & Feathering, they're better but cost alot more. If you're not racing, go for CSP, its cheaper and good.
