When removing tank
See the attachement for Dimensions.
Do literally about 20 full tank flushEs.
I.e.,,, pump out tank
Then fill with water
Repeat 19 more times.
You might want to put in some tide detergent with your water flushes to get the sludge off the walls.
After your last pump out, here is an easy way to totally dry the inside of the tank
Get one of the oil extractor pumps which have a long inlet tube. Remove the tank sender on the top of the tank, (assuming you have one), and just suck all the remaining liquid out.
Then, remove hoses.
Lastly (VERY IMPORRANT) take short hose lengths (6 inches), and get wood rod which just fits the ID
Make up short "stopper tubes", and clamp onto all of the fittings.
Now, when you remove the tank, nothing will spill out into your interior.
This small precautionary measure is well worth it.
Now,,,
Once you have your tank out, this would be an excellent time to change out your old head hoses. You're going to end up doing this at some point. It's a lot easier with the tank out. Think about this..
