Pascagoula, MS anchorage?

I'm a bit embarrased to admit I've been sailing the Mississippi sound since the early 90's but know nothing about the Pascagoula area. Where can you anchor for the night ? Is Lake Yazoo good spot? I only draw 4'. My wife and I are sailing toward Pensacola from Long Beach, MS this Saturday so I thought about doing a little exploring instead of sailing by as usual.

You should be okay with your 4 foot draft. Lake Yazoo is fairly shallow but according to my NOAA tide tables, it should not be a problem on Saturday evening There is a visitor slip that I think has power located right next to my friend Dick Dixon's Kerrie Elite "C.D. Express". If you want I can talk to Dick this evening and get info on this slip. Myself and some friends will probably be sailing out around Horn Island Saturday. If you see a green hulled Pearson, "Sandi's Wings" give me a hail on VHF 16 and we could possibly motor in the Harbor with ya'll. Frank

I don't know if will stop on the way out or back. If we've got good wind I think we'll just keep heading toward Mobile bay as the marine forecast for Sunday is calling for wind on our nose at 10-15. But we will definately keep a look out for you on Saturday. We'll be aboard "Miss Jenna" our H310.
