Any suggestions for reliable parts supply for volvo MD11C?? I have a freshwater system driven directly by the engine. Two impellors. One moves the antifreeze freshwater withing the engine and another pumps raw water. The pumps are the same size. This works fine in colder weather but once the water warms up I have overheating at higher RPM's . I think that a larger volume raw water pump would solve the problem. The engine was originally a raw water cooled saildrive. It was used to replace the MD11C original engine that died. The freshwater conversion was added by the previous owner. I am tempted to go back to raw water cooling but would prefer a larger raw water pump. This system almost works in that last week I could cruise all day at 1800 rpm without overheating. But at 2200 the temperature would increase to 190. I noticed that when we were near the bottom of a dam the engine cooled some. I assume that this is from the cooler water being discharged from the upper lake's bottom.

190 deg sounds OK, not overheating....

that does not seem hot. 220 deg is hot. (214 boiling point) Does the engine shut down or alarms go off? If not, you are probably OK. I would check the thermostat before changing pump size. my .02, good luck, MArc
