Moving my new to me 23.5 from Lake Tahoe to SF Bay. The boat was just given a $1700 epoxy paint job. Great for the Lake, not for the bay. Intend to keep the boat in the bay until the end of year. So planned to bottom paint it this weekend with a few coats on Pettit Vivid. I planned to paint it while on the trailer. Read a few posts about methods to paint the bunk sections, seemed reasonable.
Not so much. After attempting to sand the bottom this morning, I realized there is no way I will be ever to get the entire bottom painted, even with the trailer tilting techniques. Might be possible if I was smaller and not a senior citizen and not nervous about the toxins in this process.
So my question is, what if I only get 75% of the bottom painted? What sort of damage am I looking at next year? Most of the bunk sections and around the keel will have had no protection. Can divers keep small sections cleaned?
