I recently read an article suggesting that all panda generators would be well served by running fresh water thru the heat exchanger before shutting them down after running with salt or brackish (chesapeake bay) water. I added a brass "T" in line near the thru hull strainer and added a mail hose thread on center tap with 3/4 hose barbs and double claps on the ends. I keep a brass female hose end on the center "T" when running the generator allowing sea water cooling. When I am done, i fill the galley's sink full of fresh water, stop the generator and connect one end of a hose to the "t". I put the other end in the sink and run the generator until the sink is empty. Note: on the Hunter 38 the sink is close to all the thru hulls. Works great! This should also serve well to help winterize.
