There is a couple from the town I work in (Waxahachie, TX) that is cruising the Caribbean aboard their Tayana 37. They stayed in Panama for a time and are currently off the Columbian coast. sailingvalentina.com

Panama

GREAT place. Los Perlos Islands - fantastic. Bocas del Torro - fabulous. The west coast is a great cruising ground. Lovely anchorages. The east coast has of course Colon - horrible and dangerous but duty free - and Port Bello - terrific. Panama is for the most part friendly, helpful and cheap. The yacht clubs in Balboa are great and machinists, chandleries etc. readily available. Panama is a place I could go back to for a long time. One of the best places of my 4 year travels from Pacific Mexico to St. Maarten.
