Thatcher; Basically, pan liners are structural components designed to take the rigging loads and spread them out thru the hull, stringers are hull stiffeners and engine mounting beds.
Thatcher, Most Hunter dealers have a video on how Hunters are made. The pan section is quite clear and well done. I suspect Calalina dealers have the same short of video.
All these stringers , pan ,bulkheads, etc. have best effect on structural strenght if they are laminated to hull..Some procedures these days , have some of these components connected to hull by some semi-ridgit mastick like bond .This might allow for some movement of bonded units in heavy weather rolling boats .
